Start-Ups Poaching more Googlers
June 29, 2007In a story by Kevin Delaney in the Wall Street Journal he speaks of Google employees leaving the company with still un-vested stock options on the table for greener pastures at other companies, usually start-ups with big potential. The “tech-set” as I lovingly call them, are not feeling as useful as they would like. As Google grows larger, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for individuals to stand out and make their voices heard above all the other Googlers googling.
FaceBook is just one example which has witnessed 10 out of 11 recent new employees for programming positions who turned down offers at the Google plex to join the fast growing FaceBook. Having recently opened up it’s systems to all programmers to develop tools and programs to run in conjunction with it’s existing platform, FaceBook is setting itself up to be a killer company with amazingly popular applications.
